Veteran Table Tennis Player Sharath Kamal Achanta To Receive Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award

National Sports Award 2022: Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Monday, announced names of sports persons, coaches and entities, who will be receive the prestigious National Sports Awards 2022 by President of India, Draupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 30th November.

The award since August 6, 2021 is named after Major Dhyan Chand (1905–79), an Indian field hockey player, widely regarded as one of the greatest field hockey players of all time, who scored more than 1000 goals over a career that spanned over 20 years from 1926 to 1948

Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award:  Highest sporting honour of India.[5] It is awarded annually by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. 

Award Prize : 25 Lakhs and Certificate.
