Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launch ‘Digital Payments Utsav’.

 An exceptional campaign called “Digital Payments Utsav” will highlight India’s digital transformation path through a number of events and activities from 9 February to 9 October 2023.
As part of the G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) event, the campaign will concentrate on promoting digital payments throughout the nation, particularly in the cities of Lucknow, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed his goal of having the entire digital credit system in place by 2023 and gave the NPCI the go-ahead to lead the charge in that regard.
He also wished each bank much luck and urged people to embrace the prime minister’s vision of how the digital revolution will alter the lives of the nation’s hard-to-reach citizens.
He stated that UPI 123 Pay is now available in the local language thanks to a partnership with Digital Payments and Mission Bhashini, the National Language Translation Mission.
A regular individual will be able to make payments using voice commands in her own language as a result.

 Ujjivan Small Finance Bank launched Hello Ujjivan, India’s first mobile banking application with 3 V’s – voice, visual, and vernacular-enabled features – to provide banking access to individuals who have limited reading and writing skills. The app is designed to instill banking habits in MicroBanking and Rural customers who are digitally challenged.

MobiKwik becomes India’s first app to support credit cards on UPI.

 India’s leading fintech, MobiKwik has become the first fintech apps to support RuPay Credit Cards on UPI. The development brings a new level of convenience to the millions of Indians who use UPI for their daily transactions. With nearly 50 million users possessing one or more credit cards, this is a significant milestone in India’s drive towards a cashless economy.

With RuPay Credit Cards now linked directly to UPI IDs, MobiKwik’s customers can easily make payments to merchants by scanning the UPI QR code and using UPI PIN for payment authentication.

UNESCO To Declare the World’s First Living Heritage University.

 Visva-Bharati University was founded by Rabindranath in 1921. It will soon receive the UNESCO ‘heritage” tag. This will allow it to be the first university of living heritage. Bidyut Chakraborty, Vice-Chancellor of Visva-Bharati University, stated that the university would be designated a heritage university.

According to UNESCO, in 1922, Visva-Bharati was inaugurated as a Centre for Culture with exploration into the arts, language, humanities, music and these are reflected in diverse institutes that continue in their educational programmes like including Hindi studies, Sino-Asian studies, humanities, fine arts, and music.

Natasha Perianayagam Scored Highest in “World’s Brightest” Students List.

 A 13-year-old girl, Natasha Perianayagam won the title of “world’s brightest” student. Natasha Perianayagam, an Indian American, was named to the list compiled by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth in the United States. Natasha has been listed on the “world’s brightest” list, previously she also took the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) test in 2021, when she was still in the 5th grade. The test is a worldwide operation, with over 1500 students participating in the project across 76 countries.

Yuva Sangam Registration Portal Launched in New Delhi.

 The Yuva Sangam registration portal was launched in New Delhi. The Yuva Sangam is an initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build close ties between the youth of the Northeast Region and the rest of India under the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Under the initiative, over 20 thousand youth will travel across the country and gain a unique opportunity for cross-cultural learning.

Centre Notifies Appointment Of 5 Judges To Supreme Court of India, Working Strength Rises To 32

 The Union government notified the appointment of five new judges to the Supreme Court. With their appointments, the number of judges in the Supreme Court will rise to 32. Currently, the Supreme Court of India has a sanctioned strength of thirty-four Judges and is presently functioning with twenty-seven Judges.
